The Highland games is an age-old Scottish tradition and competition for the heartiest of the Celtic heritage. The Highland Games of Harpers Ferry again welcomes all who wish to experience this wonderful culture's liveliness.
The Harpers Ferry Highland Games festival welcomes all to our one hundred and thirty acre venue at Sam Michaels Park in Jefferson County West Virginia.
The Highland Games of Harpers Ferry include these traditional competitions:
Open/Braemar Stones
Cabre Toss
Scottish Hammers
Sheaf Toss
Weight For Height
From the tossing of a caber end over end, throwing stones and hammers for distance, or just enjoying great food and grog, there’s something for everyone. This outdoor event will have vendors, live music, food, a beer garden and bar, traditional dancing, a playground for the kids, a dog park, FREE parking, and more. We cordially invite you, your entire family, and all of your friends to participate in this year’s colorful event because without you, there are no games at all.
Admission is $20 per person at the gate, $15 in advance; kids under 12 are FREE.
Because of the danger from flying cabers and stones, we sadly must say that pets are NOT permitted at the Highland Games, but service animals are welcome.
No outside alcohol will be permitted.
